Pre Treatment Instructions:
Avoid any aspirin, blood thinners, fish oil, heavy alcohol, or any supplement that may thin your blood for 24 hours before your treatment. These may increase your risk of bruising and discoloration following treatment. You may also reduce your risk of bruising by taking oral ARNICA pills. The first pill is taken AFTER your injection.
When Sculptra is first injected, you may notice an immediate plumping effect which gives the appearance of a full correction by the end of the treatment session.
The original skin depression(s) may initially reappear, but the depression should gradually improve within several weeks as the treatment effect of Sculptra occurs. Sculptra Aesthetic is different because it gradually and subtly corrects. Sculptra Aesthetic may stimulate collagen growth which helps to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds over time. The day after the treatment it will appear that the filler is no longer present, but as time goes you will begin to see the result of Sculptra
Post Treatment Instructions:
GIVE YOURSELF FACIAL MASSAGES - Thoroughly massage the treated area in a circular fashion for 5 minutes, 5x / day for 5 days. This helps to evenly distribute Sculptra and promote a natural-looking correction.
AVOID EXCESS SUNLIGHT AND UV EXPOSURE - Minimize exposure of the treated area to excessive sun and avoid ultraviolet lamp exposure until any initial swelling and redness have disappeared.
CAREFULLY CONSIDER OTHER PROCEDURES - If you have laser treatment, chemical peeling or any other skin procedure based on active dermal response after treatment, there is a possible risk of eliciting an inflammatory reaction at the implant site. Please avoid these procedures for at least seven days after you are treated with Sculptra. This also applies if Sculptra is administered before the skin has healed completely after these procedures.
On average, three injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months. After you reach your treatment goals with Sculptra, it is advised you maintain your results with 1-2 Sculptra treatments every year. It is important that you understand that Sculptra aids in the production of collagen, therefore you must commit to maintenance for best results. Maintenance will prolong your investment and keep your skin looking its best.
